1) Is it hard to wrap your mind around the fact that God's grace is a gift and not something we have to earn? Why or why not?
2) What emotions/thoughts come to mind when you hear this: "But a man cannot be thoroughly humbled till he realizes that his salvation is utterly beyond his own powers, counsels, efforts, will and works, and depends absolutely on the will, counsel, pleasure and work of Another - God alone?" 3) Can you think of an example in your life, where you worked so hard on something but just couldn't 'do' it? No matter what you tried, your effort wasn't good enough? How did you move on from this? Did someone have to help you? Can you relate that to God's grace?
