Our Mission
Alger Park Church joins the Holy Spirit in God's radical movement by creatively growing in and living out the gospel of Jesus where we live, learn, work and worship.
Together we engage in worship, acts of service, generosity, environmental stewardship, community building, mentoring, and education. We are privileged to work with God in the Alger Heights/Garfield Park neighborhoods, in all the places we live and work, and around the world. |
Our History
Alger Park Church was founded in 1952 as an offshoot of the Burton Heights and Seymour Christian Reformed churches, at a time when the neighborhood around Walsh Street and Eastern Ave still had more vacant lots than houses. From that beginning, Alger Park has grown along with the neighborhood, continuing to worship Christ and serve our community.
We are a member church of the Christian Reformed denomination. You can learn more about the Christian Reformed Church here. |
